LABRats > Development Progress

Hello, I am Diana Horrigan, the new Director of Program Development for Labrats.  I have been working for SAS since May 2007 and am enjoying working on the Labrats program very much.  I have always been very interested in science education.  In fact, as an undergraduate I completed training to become a high school biology teacher and am certified to teach in Massachusetts.  However, I decided to pursue a Ph.D. in biology from Brown University rather than go straight on to teaching.  In May 2006 I graduated from Brown and began teaching biology at Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater, MA.   Teaching at both the high school and college level has really strengthened my passion for science education.  That is why I firmly believe in the Labrats program.  I see my job as Director of Program Development for Labrats as a novel way to turn students on to the excitement of scientific discovery.   If you are interested in science, I hope you will join me by becoming involved in Labrats.  I welcome all questions and comments.  Please email me at dhorrigan@sas.org.  For more information about Labrats visit www.labrats.org.
